Urban Assault 2

Urban Assault is an old game and its rare blend of FPS and RTS deserves to be seen again. For those of you who want to start/coordinate projects to make an Urban Assault 2, this is a dedicated forum for you!

Well, it's obviously clear UA2 will never come to surface if we don't do it ourselves, don't think anyone outside this forum actually cares about a sequel or a alternative open source project dedicated to this game.

Yeah but we just dont have enough programmers on this forum! Game development takes up much time

To be honnest, the only laguages I know are a little bit of ABEL, some VHDL basics, and a BIIIG bit of AVR-C (C language applied to MicroControllers).
So it won't be enough to help you :/

Using an already-existing game engine would certainly be the easiest way. I think Unreal Engine 3 would actually work and it's freely available for non-commercial use. Implementing the RTS part is probably the hardest task but it could possibly done with UnrealScript.

Unless we used the microcontrollers in models to make UA 2 in real life... As in models on a table battling it out...

Unrealscript is actually a very good choice, althrough UT3 sucks a bit, I can count myself as the biggest Unreal Series-Fan in the universe atm. I've created Monsters for UT2004 so I know a tiny tiny little bit about Unrealscript.

I know that UA was scripted in C++ that the reason why it works with lots of crashes on linux OSs... But I was talkin about the unreal engine actually
