Urban Assault is an old game and its rare blend of FPS and RTS deserves to be seen again. For those of you who want to start/coordinate projects to make an Urban Assault 2, this is a dedicated forum for you!

I think UA has all that ... the background story is pretty huge tbh and complicated as well ...

Usually you have a few factions... the good and the bad... Ua doesn'T have that

Strategically UA isn'T superior and the rock paper scissor system is... wel lnot so rock paper scissors
they merging of RTs+ FPS is best in UA I think . I know no sinlge game where this blends so well.

The thing about being repetive. If you wanna make a followup title something needs to be familiar otherwise it would be a new game.

Customization might be a key... SC2, HL2 all have an giant amonut of mods easy to access ... makes the game more popular in general.

Maybe selling hats would be a godo ideai n Ua., having tigers with hockey mask on their turret

We're you able to secure rights? Is that what you were actually trying to do?

yea tell us im excited too :D

Urban Assault is such a great game, i don't understand why it had no success in it's time.
Even now, 15 years after the official release i still enjoy playing it much more than the newer games nowadays.
Its definitely one of the best games ever created.

More than six months since dragonfire967's last post... If he's planning to make money by designing games, then this might not be his number one project. It would be quite risky to start with a remake of a game that was never very popular and that represents a genre not so well known.

Ehh... What a shame, though it's understandable. Though, I'm not sure where he went, Chaos Realm Studios seems dead at the very least (facebook page has been deleted, website's expired, etc.)

I want to carry on the torch & begin the reboot in earnest (even if there's no monetary gain), but as much as I want to, I'm currently swamped with projects & contracts atm (also going to be demoing at GDC China). Even with progress, it's just going to be inconsistent right now.

Once enough progress & momentum's been made, I'll make a new page/topic. Until then, just consider me as not working on any attempts at making a UA reboot or UA2.
