Any one know what the model files are

For those of us who are curious and like to poke around in the game's data files and scripts as well as glitching. Caters to anything from unit/building stats to level data to telling how to glitch and stories of game errors.

with editing the SDF it is possible to create new sectors by moving existing buildings/terrain in new orders. Oh and with VBMP converter it is possible to change the terrain and colors too.

To a certain extent, yes, but as far as we know, a set can contain 256 sectors at the most so including all sectors from all sets is not possible. Including all textures might also be challenging. But if you meant if it's possible to create a set with which you can use all sector numbers (0-255, or 00-FF in hex), yes, it should be completely possible.

Edit: More sector modding results coming next weekend or something. I'll also try to debug the non-working sectors.

maybe the non working sectors just dont have an entry in set.sdf? Is that correct?

I haven't checked all sets but at least some of them contain definitions for 256 sectors although they don't contain 256 working sectors. I think they point to incorrect models or something.

Edit: GoldStar is right, see the new thread for more information...

Feel free to download the set3.zip file and let me know what you think.
I am currently working on an assembly program to extract the VBMP textures out of the set.bas files and save them to individual files.

Where are the texture pages for the sets other than Set 3?

I think no one has made such packs for other sets but you can easily extract all textures by using GoldStar's tool.

GoldStar611 wrote:Good to know I've got some support. I was beginning to wonder if anyone was keeping up with this thread or would find any use for it. Regardless, I find it interesting and I have created a small console program that will extract every VBMP file from SET.BAS in the current directory.
To use it copy it to let's say C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Urban Assault\DATA\SET3\OBJECTS and then run it. Black box then *POOF* lots of files.
You can also extract the SKY's from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Urban Assault\DATA\OBJECTS Just rename 1998_01.BAS to SET.BAS for example and you will get NEWSKY1.ILBM and NEWSKY2.ILBM. I'll be adding features (get all .bas files or have command line support and *maybe* a gui) later on. Just going to get working pieces put together at first.
That's just the thing. The program is not working for me. I have been playing with it to no avail.

Hm, which operating system do you have? If you have Windows Vista or 7, there might be issues with the read/write permissions of certain folders. What exactly happens when you try to use it?

No, I am using Windows XP. I explicitly decided not to have a Vista computer.

When I double click on Project 1 it opens and them immediately closed again.

I assume I am supposed to be looking at a command prompt of some sort, no?
