Bug Restart/Save when Resistance enabled

For those of us who are curious and like to poke around in the game's data files and scripts as well as glitching. Caters to anything from unit/building stats to level data to telling how to glitch and stories of game errors.

Ok I have following bug in my Myko mod:
When I have the Resistacne as User 1 enabled , I can'T reload(from saving) a map nor can't i restart it via the restart button, however, leaving the level and restarting it works fine.

As it seems the hoststation itself( vehicle 56) doesn'T matter
its the user "1" that matters.
Have searched a bit in the Metro-Dawn expansion for some clues but didn'T find anything relevant.

Any thoughts or work arounds?
[ Didn't bronsteijn has the same problem, but he solved it with a massive workaround?]

What exactly happens? Does the game crash? I've had such problems with the "restart mission" button (exiting, then restarting works) and I think that sometimes with save reloading as well though I'm not exactly sure.

Anything useful in ypa_log?

well UA hangs up in the loading tab when pressing the restart button. [ have to exit via ctrl alt+del]
Same with loading a saved map while Resistance is active.

Didn't find anything in the YPA log so far.

Ah yes this is the number 1 problem when making a mod with a different faction. The fix is easy.

1. Download Metropolis dawn expansion.
2. In the Urban Assault folder, You will see "Ua_xp.exe"
3. Delete "Ua.exe"
4. Make a copy of "Ua_xp.exe" and rename it "Ua.exe"
5. Place it in the Urban Assault folder.
6. Profit! XD


Note: Apparently the devs made UA.exe to only have compatible saving with user 1, possibly to stop people from cheating. However when the made metropolis dawn they added compatibility with all factions so they could save when playing as the ghorkovs and tearkastens.

Oh, that's good to know, and quite a logical solution indeed. Actually there's no need to have two executables at all, but then you have to edit all old shortcuts to point to ua_xp.exe instead.

yep and what also happens when you repalce the UAxp exe with the norm ua exe, is that you get an actually usefull debrief tab where the kills of the player count :D

Wow, that is amazing Brensteijn! I never knew this about the difference between UA and UA_XP. I figured the only change would be to read from the registry for the correct ENV variable passed via command line
